Yahoo upgrades its Messenger app with new features for Mac and Windows

Yahoo has introduced an upgraded version of its Messenger app for Windows and Mac. The app was launched in December last year. Using the new app, one can send messages along with photos and animated GIFs. The app comprises a ‘drag and drop feature’ to share multiple photos at once. Users can also like posts or images that stand out to them. The app also features desktop notifications, in a bid to allow the users to multitask.

A unique feature on the new Yahoo Messenger the unsend button, which allows the user to take back a message, photo or GIF even after having pressed send.

The Yahoo Messenger desktop app is available for download on Windows and Mac. An official statement from the company also said that the Yahoo Messenger desktop app has to be ugraded by August 5 as the legacy Yahoo Messenger app will no longer function going forward.

The Sunnyvale, California headquartered company was recently acquired by Vaerizon for a little over 4 billion dollars. The company has offices located throughout the Americas, Asia Pacific (APAC) and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.
