HMD Global, which now has rights to market and sell Nokia branded smartphones, has plans to launch at least 5 android powered devices in 2017. While three of them are expected to be launched at the MWC in February, a few more will see light in the second and third quarter of 2017. Among the three phones rumored to make their debut in a couple months, each device will represent the entry level, mid and premium segment respectively.
The much talked about, mid-range D1C is one of those devices. It could be offered in two variants, memory and screen size being the key differentiators. The D1C is expected to run Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with an Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB of RAM and a full HD screen. With 32GB onboard storage, it is rumored to carry a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper.
Another device, tipped as the Nokia E1 could make its debut with the D1C. It is rumored to run Android 7.0 out of the box and could be backed by a Snapdragon 600 SoC, along with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt memory. The Flagship Nokia on the other hand could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC, backed by 6GB of RAM, a 23 MP Carl Zeiss Lens and top notch display.
