His movie ‘Dangal’ has wrestled to the top of the charts as the biggest Bollywood hit of all time! Smashing his previous movie PK’s record of Rs 340.8 crore, ‘Dangal’ has managed to rake in Rs 350 crore+. It is the first Indian movie ever to have earned such a massive amount.
Most of his previous movies have broken records at the box office too. So where ‘Ghajini’ was the first to breach the Rs 100 crore barrier, ‘3 Idiots’ surpassed that and entered the Rs 200 crore club. His movie ‘PK’ then created a new benchmark by raking in more than Rs 300 crore.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is a biographical sports drama, where Aamir Khan plays Mahavir Singh Phogat. A common man who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. The former the went on the become India’s first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 Kg). Her sister Babita Kumari won the silver in the 51 Kg category.
