After recently launching the Nokia 6 for the Chinese market, HMD Global has sent out invites for an event where they will announce their new line-up of Android powered phones. Among those could be their all-new flagship, the Nokia 8.
Rumored to be powered by the brand new Snapdragon 835 SoC, the Nokia 8 was apparently displayed without any branding at Qualcomm’s CES stall. It was showcased there to display the new chipset’s image stabilization capabilities, against the older 821 SoC, and nosey, keen observers who solved the equation were then asked not to click any pictures.
To be the flag bearer, the Nokia 8 is rumored to feature a 23 MP Carl Zeiss Lens, come fitted with an 835 SoC which in all probability will be backed by 6 GB of RAM. Wrapped in a waterproof, all-metal unibody, the Nokia 8 is expected to run Andorid 7.0 Nougat Out-of-the-box.
The Nokia could could arrive with two variants – one with a Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB RAM and a 24 MP OIS + EIS primary camera, a 12 MP front camera and dual front-facing speakers. Storage options will be limited to 64GB or 128GB and there will be a microSD card slot for expansion.
The lesser spec-ed variant could come fitted with a Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and is reportedly the phone sitting next to the so called Nokia 8 in the above video.
