Airtel surprises postpaid users by offering 30GB free data for 3 months

The free data rain has been lashing smartphone users in the country and it just doesn’t seem to stop. India’s largest telecom operator, Bharti Airtel has announced a surprise offer, under which, its postpaid users can enjoy 30 GB of free data, starting March 13th.

A monthly cap of 10GB has been set for this offer and customers can claim their share via the ‘MyAirtel’ app by March 31st 2017. To claim the offer, customers will need to download the app through the Play Store, post which, the app shows a dialogue box prompting users to claim their surprise.

This new offer comes close on the heels of another proposition, where Airtel has launched new prepaid recharge packs that provide 1GB bundled data per day. A Rs. 345 Airtel plan lets users consume 500MB during the day, and the remaining 500MB data between 12am and 6am. There’s another Rs. 549 pack which provides 1GB of data everyday, without any cap on timings. There’s a new price war that has started, after Reliance Jio revealed its Prime subscription package, which allows its existing subscribers to enjoy benefits similar to the provider’s Happy New Year offer for a one-time fee of Rs. 99 and a monthly fee of Rs.303. For that amount, users will be able to continue with existing benefits of unlimited data (Subject to 1GB FUP), along with free voice calls and texts.
