Mi Band

Xiaomi today unveiled two new products on its portfolio. The Mi Band 1S is a successor of the previously launched Mi Band, with some added features. Both the products are going to be available for users side by side. The new Mi Band 1S is currently going to be available only in China. Official announcement regarding its availability around the world is expected soon. Xiaomi also unveiled a 20000 mAh power bank which is great for carrying around as it packs in a tremendous punch and can be used to charge your smart phones and other electronic devices.

The new Mi Band 1S sports several substantial improvements over the previous one, the most notable among which are the inclusion of a optical heart rate sensor and IP67 certification. The certification ensures that the revamped fitness tracker will be able to withstand dust and water to an extent. The new Mi Band 1S still misses a display and that could cause a detrimental effect to its sales figures.

The new fitness tracker has dimensions of 37 X 13.6 X 9.9 mm which makes it slightly larger than the original Mi Band. The new Mi Band 1S also weighs half a gram more than its predecessor. The company has retained the old 45 mAh battery, which also powers the original Mi Band and it claims that the device will run for 30 days straight with a single charge. With the addition of the optical heart rate monitor, that indeed will be an interesting feat. The new Mi Band 1S is priced at CNY 99 which is equivalent to US $ 16.

The newly launched 20000 mAh power bank offers 5.1 V and 3.6 A output. The outer body is made of plastic as opposed to the metal body seen in the other power banks by the company. The company claims that the battery inside the power bank has been manufactured by LG. This device is priced at CNY 149 which is roughly equivalent of US $ 24.
