Come January 28 and Huawei Terminal’s Honor brand will launch its next smart phone, the Honor 5X. The launch is expected to take place in India, followed by a global launch. The phone was originally unveiled in China back in October and was showcased in two variants – with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM, priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,200) and CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,300) respectively. The company has already started sending press invites for the scheduled launch event that even teases the upcoming handset as “Faster Better Stronger.” The Honor 5X will be the successor to the Honor 4X smart phone, which was launched in March last year.
Some of the features of the device showcased in October are as follows.
The Honor 5X is a dual-SIM phone that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the Emotion UI 3.1 skin on top. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The 16GB inbuilt storage on the can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 128GB. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture for low light photography, 28mm wide-angle lens, 5P lens and Blue Glass IR filter. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 22mm wide-angle, 4P Lens also gets a Blue Glass IR filter and has a shooting range of 88 degrees.
The new Honor 5X is backed by a 3000 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0, which can charge the device up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The smart phone features a fingerprint sensor, placed on the rear panel below the camera, which can unlock the handset in as little as 0.5 seconds. The smart phone includes Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity options. The Honor 5X measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15 mm and weighs 158 grams. It was showcased in Silver and Gold color options in China, back in October.
