Members of NeoGAF, a leading video game forum have spotted an Xbox One digital game subscription service. The new service is Electronic Arts’ EA Access that is coming to Windows. The service will be provided through EA’s PC digital platform. As per the promotional material, the EA’s burgeoning catalogue of titles will be available to the PC users running Windows at a price of $ 4.99 per month. The same amount is paid by users of Xbox One for EA Access as well. Even in India the pricing would be similar to that of EA Access on the Xbox One which is around INR 315 per month or INR 1,990 for annual subscription. As of now no annual subscription plan has been listed by EA.
Origin’s US Website had taken down the promotional material which was brought back in few minutes. The pricing is GBP 3.99 a month as listed in UK website. The release came prior to any official announcement from EA. The FAQ page on US website gives you certain benefits that are expected from EA Access on Xbox One. The benefits that are mentioned are ability to try out new EA games before release, an increased collection of great PC games and a saving of 10% on Origin purchases. As it is not available in India yet, The FAQ page displays a message “not available in the region yet”, but it will definitely be showing up shortly.
The countries having the service currently are US, UK, Germany, and Canada. Some games that are playable at the moment are – SimCity, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Dead Space series (1,2 and 3), Dragon Age Series (Inquisition Digital Deluxe, II and Origins – Ultimate Edition), Battlefield (3,4 and Hardline Digital Deluxe), The Sims 3 Starter Pack, FIFA 15, This War of Mine and Need for Speed Rivals: Complete Edition.
