Japan First to Introduce Robotic Mobile Phone, RoBoHon

Robot is a Machine that does all the work assigned to him perfectly without any error. Being a machine it never gets tired. On Thursday, May 26, 2016 for the first time in this world, Japan introduced a robotic mobile phone, called RoBoHon. This robotic mobile phone is a pocket-size walking and dancing robot. EFE news reported that this is the first smart phone which is human shaped. This new robotic smart phone is developed by Japanese electronics company, Sharp and engineer Tomotaka Takahashi. This is the same company who had invented the first robot astronaut Kirobo. This robotic smart phone was on sale for a basic price of JPY 198,000,  which is $1,800 that is roughly around INR 1.21 lakhs.

In order to mark the launch, the Osaka-based company opened the RoBoHon Cafe in Tokyo where they are allowing visitors to test the robot until June 7. Nearly 5,000 units are being produced per month by the Japanese electronics manufacturer. After sealing a takeover agreement with the Taiwanese company Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, they aim to be the leader of this type of mobile. The Taiwanese company Hon Hai is known for assembling iPhones and iPads for Apple.

The new robotic mobile phone can not only be used as a mobile, but this 19.5-cm tall humanoid robot which weighs 390 grams can also be used as a projector for displaying videos, photos or maps. Based on conversation with the android, it also offers a wide range of applications. This new magical robotic smart phone makes the use of its secondary camera to recognize faces of people and then it starts addressing the user by his or her name.
