CMR reports that in India more than 15.8 Million 4G Devices were Imported in First Quarter

On Friday, in the first quarter of 2016, a report stated that over 15.8 million 4G / LTE devices were imported in India. Out of the total, 97.9 per cent devices were smart phones, 1.5 per cent were Internet data cards lastly to be followed by tablet PCs at 0.6 per cent. The market research company Cyber Media Research known as CMR, Quarterly India LTE Devices  reported that this all amounted to 63 percent of the cellular devices being shipped through the quarter.

At CMR that is the Cyber Media Research, in a statement the Lead Analyst of Telecoms, Faisal Kawoosa, said that the smart phone industry was the first to bank upon the 4G wave. Now as the services go live with multiple operators, it is the time for other devices to ride on the growth path.  In the mobile phones segment, the three leaders are Samsung, Lenovo and Reliance Industries’s Lyf having 32 percent, 14 percent and 13 percent market shares, respectively.

The three leading brands in tablet are Samsung, Apple and iBall  with 58 percent, 16 percent and 12 percent market shares, respectively. However, , Huawei, ZTE and Micromax were the only three players in the Internet data cards segment shipping 4G devices in the first quarter. The shares of these companies were found to be 40 percent, 31 percent and 29 percent, respectively.
