With so many companies competing with each other we will be seeing cheaper models of smart phones. Currently Namotel, which is a Bengaluru-based smart phone manufacturer, has made a debute with it’s new device called Acche Din. This smart phone was earlier available for INR 2,999, but now it will be available to customers at an unbelievable cost of INR 99 only. This is the cheapest smart phone available after the launch of Freedom 251 and later Docoss X1.

Acche Din features a four-inch display having 480×800 pixels WVGA resolution. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It also sports of having 1 GB RAM, and four GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB. This smart phone also boast of including 3G connectivity, 2 MP primary camera and a VGA secondary camera. Originally priced at Rs 2,999, the phone is now available to customers at a mere Rs 99. It boasts of a four-inch display with 480×800 pixels WVGA resolution. Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, it has 1 GB RAM, and four GB of internal storage, which is expandable to 32 GB. While connectivity includes 3G, the device sports a 2 MP back camera and a VGA selfie camera.
During the launch itself the company had explained the procedure of how the smart phone should be booked online. First, prospective buyers would have to register on bemybanker.com website who would give them an user ID and password to book their smart phone on namotel.com. Then the customers would have to submit their Aadhar card proof and pay a fee of INR 199. But surprisingly immediately the next day after it was launched both the sites bemybanker.com and Namotel.com were inaccessible. The Namotel site said that currently they had stopped booking. At the time of launch Madhava Reddy, a Namotel spokesperson had said that this cheap smart phone could be prebooked on the web site till 25 May. This incident creates doubt about the claim made by the company as they have not given any reason of reducing the cost of the phone and then closing its booking from the first day itself.
