Alcatel Launches 5 inch Smart Phone with 4G Support at INR 6,999

Alcatel, which is owned by TCL Communication, on Monday, launched the Pop Star smart phone in India. It has been priced at INR 6,999. The new Alcatel Pop Star will be exclusively available on Gadgets 360 website. It will be available in Metal Gold and Metal Silver colour options. The smart phone is a variant of the previous Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star smart phone that was launched at IFA 2015 last year. This device is only available in 4G variant. Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel, APAC BU India, commented on the launch, and said pop Star is our fashionable yet affordable range of smart phones. We are very excited to launch this phone in partnership with Gadgets 360 and this is another step towards our recent e-commerce initiative to bring technological advanced and stylish phones at affordable pricing.

The smart phone comes with support for dual-SIM and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It also features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It comes with 160-degree wide viewing angle. Under-the-hood,the phone packs a quad-core processor that is clocked at 1 GHz which is coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The new Pop Star smart phone comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The phone also provides users with an 8 GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 32 GB.

As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the new Pop Star features the usual 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity. The device measures 142.5 x 71.5 x 8.6 mm and weighs 145 grams. Also included in the device are an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The new Alcatel Pop Star is backed by a 2000 mAh removable battery.
