AMD is all set to release yet another major CPU architecture which is sure to provide a blow to intel’s high performing processors which are currently enjoying an elite position in the market. Come 2016 and AMD will start production and supply of the much speculated Zen CPU. Couple of days back the company finished testing it and claimed that they met all internal expectation without any bottlenecks. This revelation is surely set to give sleepless nights to Intel as the new AMD Zen CPU is expected to give tough competition to the best performing CPUs from their stable.
AMD is reportedly focusing on performance alone and this new Zen CPU is expected to provide a significant performance boost over the existing range of FX series CPUs and even the excavator based APUs. Some speculations over the internet suggest that the new Zen is expected to be built using the FinFET manufacturing process which is similar to what Intel uses. AMD is hoping for a boost of around 40% over the existing excavator APUs with the new cores which are designed to provide significant clock gain.
The reality of this new offering from AMD can be confirmed only much later when the product is finally made available for users. These speculations are at the moment only speculations but that does not stop it from being exciting news. Other speculations are already ripe over the internet regarding compatibility with different hardware and we shall get into more details about all that when things are officially confirmed by the company.
However, if all this is true, then the Zen is expected to be a heavy hitter for the company and Intel surely needs to break a sweat to maintain its domination in the market with its lineup of CPUs.
Sadly, the “original source” for this popped up on WCCF… If you'v never heard anything about WCCF, associate it quickly with “take it with a grain of salt”.
