Apple’s iPhone 7 – Everything we know so far

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 is to be with a plethora of new features. Some of the features that we are sure of are as follows:

Apple is planning to completely remove the 3.5mm headphone jack and will be relying on the Lightning port for audio. This modification will lead to a slimmer iPhone as it saves space and a better overall sound quality. Last week, reports from Fast Company also claimed that the iPhone 7’s audio system will have a new noise-cancelling technology which will help remove background noise during phone calls and music playback.

Removing the headphone jack will help make the phone waterproof as there will a lesser port for water to creep in. The new iPhone 7 will be waterproof as well as dustproof which will come with an IP68 rating. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be having the same display size as that of iPhone 6 and 6S Plus but the company will be introducing a new look and feel to the new phone. It will also be providing wireless charging facility to the user and hence will jump into the bandwagon.

The phone will pack a higher power battery i.e. 3100 mAh battery resulting in a longer battery life which might be a strong push for folks to upgrade. The Phone might have an improved camera quality as the company is trying to implement two distinct camera modules on the iPhone. The iPhone 7 Plus will be having 3GB of RAM as compared to 2GB of RAM in the company’s iPhone 6s. The phone may have a 256 GB variant increasing the storage options, to store 4K video and high-quality photos that iPhones are capable of taking. The phone will be powered by blazing fast A10 processor which will improve the performance and power efficiency.

The new phone might be released in November 2016.  The phone will however not be having a home button and OLED display as rumoured.
