Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom price revealed; Features 5000mAh battery, 12X Zoom

Introduced at the CES 2017, the Taiwan based phone maker has announced the price of Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, alongside the launch of the Pegasus Zenfone 3S in China. Initially slated for a February release, the phone with a dual lens rear camera has been priced at CNY 3,699 (Approximately Rs. 36,440). The price though is for the top-spec model that features 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The ZenFone 3 Zoom’s dual-camera system comprises two 12MP cameras, one with a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens and a second with a 59mm lens. Users can instantly switch from the 25mm primary camera to the 59mm camera, giving them a 2.3X optical zoom, while the combined system allows for 12X Zoom. A TriTech+ autofocus system automatically chooses among three autofocus technologies — Dual Pixel PDAF, subject tracking autofocus, and second-generation laser focus —which latches on to its target in 0.03 seconds, even when photographing moving subjects.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom features a 5.5-inch, full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Powered by a 5000mAh battery, it is also the world’s slimmest smartphone with such a big power source. The battery has been designed specifically to fit in the phone’s slim, 7.9mm full-metal body. The phone weighs 170 grams, and backed by an efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, provides users with up to 42 days of standby time. The high-capacity battery enables the phone to capture up to 6.4 hours of continuous 4K UHD video on a single charge. The ZenFone 3 Zoom can also double up as a high-speed power bank for charging other devices.
