4G service now Available for public by Reliance Jio

For general public on trial basis Reliance Jio has opened up its much awaited 4G service. But to avail this service the person has to get invite from employees of Reliance Industries group firms to buy its SIM. Another option available for availing the service is that the person buys the LYF handset that is being sold by Reliance Digital. These LYF handsets are available in the price range of INR 5,599 to INR 19,499 per piece. An invite from an employee said as we inch closer towards our commercial launch, we are providing our near and dear ones a chance to test out our network.

In this scheme, any RIL group firm employee can invite any 10 people to buy Jio’s 4G SIM and LYF handset. The company will provide them with unlimited 4G mobile internet and phone calls service for 90 days. The receiver will only have to pay INR 200 to activate the services. They will also provide free unlimited access to Jio’s 4G mobile applications like Jio Play, Jio On-demand, JioMag, JioBeats, Jio Drive etc for 90 days. RIL stated that they found that over 5 lakh users were using its network during the trial phase.

They also say that in the first month itself the average voice usage is over 250 minutes and average monthly consumption per user is in excess of 18GB. On April 22, the company said, the launch is now being expanded to others in the ecosystem. This test programme will be progressively upgraded into commercial operations within a very short span of time. MNS says that the  company give any wired connection they will only install a unit at house which will connect to their tower and will provide IPTV and Internet and other digital services. Only where there are weak signal there they will provide wired connections.
