We here at Gizmoids are huge fans of Bang & Olufsen. The Danish company may not have the bleeding edge in either audio or video anymore, but when it comes to bringing together the whole shebang in an aesthetically-pleasing package, they’re the masters of their craft. The new Beolit 15 is one such example.
Crafted by Danish designer Cecilie Manz, the Beolit 15 comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and can remember up to 8 different devices. If you have a friend over, any two devices can also be connected simultaneously so you can take turns playing the DJ. B&O claims that the rechargeable battery can last up to 24 hours of continuous play on a single charge, though they do note that this probably won’t be the case if the volume is cranked all the way up since that uses more power. The Beolit 15 has four active drivers and two passive bass radiators that deliver 240W of peak power, with True360 omni-directional sound.
Manz said: “Beolit 15 stands out with its anodised aluminium grill smoothly wrapped around the speaker and its full grain leather strap that lets you carry it around your home easily.” B&O Play head Henrik Taudorf Lorensen added: “Beolit 12 was released in 2012 and is a great and iconic product. With Beolit 15, we have taken that product and refined it even further.”
The Beolit 15 will be available in March for the premium price of $599 in three colors: natural champagne, shaded rosa, and polar blue.
