Christopher Nolan took the cords in his hands and rebooted Batman in the best way the superhero could have ever deserved. The Dark Knight trilogy not only gave us the amazing Christian Bale as the caped protector of Gotham city but also a treat of the staggering reworked Batman garage. We loved the tank-sized Tumbler, the crazy flying machine called – the Bat and the incredible Bat Pod!
The only thing that you might have hated about these machines is that you might never get to ride one. But not in the case of this guy! A lucky John Doe has successfully placed the highest bid for the BatPod in an auction and will soon take it to his or her garage with pride!
This auction was held by ThePropStore at BFImax in London. The store founded by a collector named Stephen Lane who has been collecting movie-used props and costumes from the world’s greatest films. Along with the BatPod a lot of other Batman stuff was on auction as well. So, how much for the BatPod? As per the official page of the PropStore, the BatPod was sold for a price of £2,60,000 (USD 3,40,000 or INR 2.26 crore approx). Some reports suggest that the hammer smacked a total price of £3,12,000 on the machine. Whatever the price, it still is a huge number!

Did he ride it home? Nope! The auctioned BatPod isn’t action-ready. Dubbed as the Hero version, this BatPod was mainly used in the movie for close up shots. So even if the machine can’t be ridden, it still is the most detailed version of the ride!
As mentioned, along with the BatPod the store also auctioned the BatSuit for £160,000, and the Bane costume for £80,000 from the Dark Knight Rises portfolio. In the month of October, the Store will also put up more crazy stuff for auction including the RoboCop suit!
