Tim Cook has arrived in Delhi on his first visit to India as Apple CEO. His diary seems to be full with visits to various places in cities like Gurgaon, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The Apple CEO’s visit to India comes at a time when the technology giant is hit hard by a slower growth in global sales of its flagship products, iPhone, iPad and Mac. He will also be expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. This will not be the first time the duo coming together as he had met Modi at a Silicon Valley event in the US last September. They had discussed manufacturing plans under Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

A source close to Apple spoke to IANS on condition of anonymity. He said, in Delhi, after greeting employees at the Apple’s corporate office at One Horizon Centre in Gurgaon, he is expected to visit iZen Store (which is the Apple authorised reseller) in Green Park and the iWorld Store (which is the Apple premium store) in Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj. The source, however, did not give any detail of his meeting with Modi.
Apple officials in Hyderabad, in the meanwhile said that Apple will launch its development centre there this Thursday. The facility is expected to commence its operations on one lakh square feet of leased space in WaveRock, which is a building owned by real estate giant Tishman Speyer at a place called Nanakramguda. However, the sources could not confirm if Cook will be personally present to inaugurate the company’s first development centre in India. Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao tweeted will share a big news with you all day after tomorrow. Suspense till then. All in all, it seems that Cook is all set for a marathon run across the length and breadth of the country on his maiden visit as Apple CEO.
