Casio released a new Android wear smart watch – WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch, which is water resistance up to a depth of 50 meters and is built as per military standard specifications. Casio has been manufacturing watches since 70‘s and it has been developing PDAs and cellular phones from the 90‘s into the 2000‘s. Casio has a good experience in technological and experiential expertise in development of both watches and information devices and it continues to develop wrist devices too.
The watch has retained the conventional look with enhanced outdoor abilities. The watch has specifications that ensures it can withstand rugged activities which includes hiking and potentially, rafting, the Ironman Triathlon, etc. WSD-F10 will also sport various tailored apps for outdoor activities like cycling, trekking and fishing. The apps are dedicated towards measuring changes in environment and in tracking your activities. The device also allows users to download their own apps from the Play Store in order to expand the feature set for diverse outdoor activities.
The face of the watch features a dual layer display i.e. monochrome and colour LCD. With the help of the LCD, users can display apps and measurement data in colour. The device’s life can be extended, by selecting the Timepiece Mode, to more than a month. In Timepiece Mode the data is displayed only in monochrome. This feature enables the watch to tell you the time when the battery is extremely low and till you put it on charging. The device has large operating buttons and has a slip-free finish enabling the usage with gloves on hand. The device’s wristband conforms to the wrist which can be comfortably worn for extended periods. It is made up of soft urethane plastic.
The device can be connected to Casio EXILIM Outdoor Recording Gear EX-FR100 digital camera which enables to capture dynamic outdoor scenes as you can remotely control the EX-FR100 camera.
