We’ve moved on, but the nostalgia of a physical keyboard hits us all sometimes. If you wish to go back, but still live in the present, an Android based Blackberry Mercury with a QWERTY keyboard is about to be launched at the CES 2017. TCL, the Chinese manufacturer who has the rights to manufacture Blackberry branded phones has teased a video of the device ahead of the event.

Arriving in a ‘Candybar’ form, the device could feature a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1620×1080 pixels. Running Anrdoid 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, the device is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 Soc, backed by 3GB of RAM and 32 gigs of internal memory. The new phone in all probability feature its own DTE security suite and Blackberry Hub integrations.
While the world has moved on to really swift on-screen keyboards and voice enabled services, it will be a tall climb for Blackberry to get physical keyboards back in the game. We’ll keep you updated on the happenings anyways. Stay tuned!
