Unravel was a passion project of Sweden developed by Coldwood Interactive. It was a fantastic well acclaimed physics based game platform. It was a very beautiful game that had an emotional impact on their players. Ever since the success of the first game their fans have been anxiously waiting for its follow up. After a long wait today Coldwood Interactive has announced their partnership with EA for their next game. EA had earlier worked with Coldwood on Unravel helping them not only in publishing the game but also in giving it the stage at E3 2015. Now both the companies have decided to continue their partnership.
A spokesperson of EA said we love working with creative and passionate development teams, in our own studios and our partners. Which is why I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve signed a new agreement with Coldwood to work with them on their next project. We don’t have any details to share right now, but we look forward to sharing more when the time is right. We could not be more excited to continue working with Martin Sahlin and the great team at Coldwood, and to see the next adventure they bring to life.
Few people are surprise to find EA so invested in Unravel. Wedged in between massive AAA shooters, sports games, and even some mobile apps the announcement of continuing the partnership was made. However if we take in the larger scheme we can realize the reason why EA is working so hard to win audience. Earlier many gaming audience had abandoned them due to some wrong steps. So now EA is trying to win them back. We hope that they continue coming up with new innovative games that entertain us.
