The battery explosion fiasco of the Note 7 has thrown Samsung’s product plans in disarray. Apart from losing billions of dollars in product recall and replacement, the debacle has thrown the company’s resources in a tiresome loop it never wished to be a part of. The Note 7 was Samsung’s antidote to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and it turned out a bummer. The normal sized flagship, the S7, on the other hand is getting older by the day in the fast moving electronic market, and as things stand, it’s still some distance away from getting a full model replacement, the S8.
Seems like Samsung is doing what any sane company would do at this juncture. Try and plug the gap with some sort of a product that creates the illusion of ‘new’. And the Galaxy S7, in a Jet Black shade would try and do just that,.
If a report by a South Korean news outlet that goes by the name The Korea Herald is something to go by, a very glossy, very black, very Jet Black iphone 7-ish Galaxy S7 is on its way early December. The new hi-gloss colour will join a whole bunch of colours the S7 and Edge are available in. In addition to Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Gold Platinum, the S7 Edge was recently launched introduced in the desirable new Blue Coral shade, the colour that was first introduced on the Note 7.
Now, the Onyx shade by itself is pretty dark and glossy, though one can always find ways to make a finish become shinier and more of a scratch magnet. We’re not sure of what exactly would the properties of the new shade be, but it’s almost certain that it’s coming.
Details remain sketchy, but we are here to follow the developments to keep you posted as and when more details emerge. Stay tuned!
