For the uninitiated, Android One is a line of consumer electronics devices running the Android operating system in near stock form. Designed specifically for the developing, primarily Asian countries, the Android One line’s design, development, marketing and support is managed by Google. Manufacturing, however, is carried out by partnering original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). While Android One runs almost stock Android, some vendor specific changes can be applied.
