Google aims at speeding up Android app development with Android Studio 2.0

Complying with one of the top requests Google receives from Android developers, the company is now going for faster app building and deployment. During the android developer summit on Monday, the web giant announced a major update for Android studio, which is Google’s official integrated development environment, often referred to as IDE, for building android apps and games. Google said that one of the top requests it receives from android developers is to make the entire process of building and deploying faster and that is what it is going for with this update. This update is therefore sure to bring in some great news to the developers.

Android Studio 2.0, which is the latest version and is available on preview, features Instant Run, which enables the developer to quickly see the changes running a connected device or emulator. This major update is expected to dramatically improve development workflow according to Jamal Eason, who is an Android Product Manager. With the Android Studio 2.0, Google is also including a preview of a new GPU profiler which promises to simplify the entire process of profiling ones Open GL ES Android Code. Both these features to be available to developers will bring in flutter of excitement among the community members.

Google is looking for feedback on the new features having made the Android Studio 2.0 available in the Canary Release Channel. However, since this initial release is still a preview, the company recommends developers to download and run an additional copy of Android Studio in parallel with the current version.
