The Google I/O unfolded today with the intention to let the world know what the company has planned for the upcoming year. If you missed tuning in to the greatest event of all time, here is a quick recap of everything that transpired there. Among the several interesting announcements made, one of the most alluring and promising announcement seems to be regarding the Internet Giant’s mobile VR platform. As synonymous with VR itself, Google has named it Daydream. One stands a chance to experience everything that they dream from the comfort of their smart phones and feel a part of their wildest fantasies right in the midst of it.

Daydream – Google introduced Daydream as its mobile VR platform. This will be built in to the next version of Android N. It is expected to give a fillip to the world of virtual reality. Virtual reality is anyway gaining a lot of steam these days with dedicated games, photo-viewing experience and even the porn industry striving to make the most of it. According to Google, Daydream will have three main aspects attached to it. These include, correct specifications in smart phones, correct headsets and compatible apps. Daydream will therefore undoubtedly open new vistas for app developers as well.
Daydream is expected to take the already fierce competition in virtual reality to new heights. Several electronics manufacturers have come up with their own virtual reality headsets, including Samsung, HTC and Sony among others. But Google has hit the bull’s eye in this competition by incorporating this technology into their mobile platform. With Google integrating this feature into native Android N, other players will find it extremely difficult to catch up with Google as it is leading by a huge margin.
