The Google I/O unfolded today with the intention to let the world know what the company has planned for the upcoming year. Among the several interesting announcements made, one of the most applauded announcements was about Google’s very own Android TV. This Android TV is nothing but XIaomi’s Mi Box. Currently XIaomi is the only partner to manufacture the television set that will run Android TV. However, Google also announced other partners from around the world such as Sony Bravia and RCA that will also manufacture television sets that run Google’s Android TV.

The new version of XIaomi’s Mi Box runs android TV and supports 4k resolution in its display. This is currently the best display that is available for televisions and delivers crisp quality images which are nothing short of life like displays. The new Mi Box will also ship to the US. And with other manufacturers partnering with Google, Android TV is soon expected to be available throughout the world. XIaomi and Sony Bravia are anyway renowned names when it comes to electronics with the latter having carved a niche for its products already.
Android TV will provide for seamless connectivity options with other android devices. All that one does in an android smart phone can also be effectively done through a bigger and better display on the television set. Streaming videos, songs and other media content will also be a lot easier and it can also connect itself with Google Home for voice controlled operation which can switch between channels and even switch on and off.
