Google Pixel Watch 3 Rumored to Feature Same Processor as Pixel Watch 2, Introduces 60Hz Display

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is anticipated to be unveiled on August 13, alongside the Pixel 9 series. Just days before the Made by Google event, a new leak has surfaced revealing key details about the upcoming smartwatch. Similar to last year’s Pixel Watch 2, the new model is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 SoC paired with a custom co-processor. While the memory configuration appears unchanged, Google is likely to introduce two display sizes for the Pixel Watch 3.

Leaked Specifications of Google Pixel Watch 3

According to a report by Android Headlines, the Pixel Watch 3 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 (SW5100) chipset and a Cortex M33 co-processor, coupled with 2GB of SDRAM and 32GB of eMMC flash storage—the same hardware found in the Pixel Watch 2.

For the first time, Google is expected to offer the Pixel Watch 3 in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. Both versions will reportedly sport a 60Hz refresh rate display, which will reduce to 1Hz when the always-on display is activated. This feature is aimed at competing with the Apple Watch Series 9.

Display and Brightness

The Pixel Watch 3 models are rumored to feature displays with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, while also supporting a low-light brightness of just 1 nit. This adjustment is intended to enhance visibility in varying lighting conditions.

Battery Life

The 41mm model of the Pixel Watch 3 is expected to have a slightly increased battery capacity of 307mAh, up from the 306mAh battery in the Pixel Watch 2. The 45mm variant will likely come with a 420mAh battery. Despite the changes, Google is anticipated to continue claiming a battery life of 24 hours with the always-on display enabled, and up to 36 hours with power-saving mode activated.

With these enhancements and maintained performance standards, the Pixel Watch 3 aims to deliver a refined user experience while staying competitive in the smartwatch market. As the official launch date approaches, more details are expected to be revealed, further building anticipation for Google’s latest wearable.
