We all know Google’s naming convention for its major Android OS releases by now: Each one comes a new dessert-themed name for it. Android 2.2 was Froyo, Android 4.0 was Ice Cream Sandwich, and Android 5.0 was Lollipop. Now Android M is on the horizon, and lots of folks are speculating which dessert the next Android update might be named after.
Seems like we won’t have to wait too long to find out. While we are still at the guessing stage, a new teaser video from Google employees Nat and Lo indicates that we are getting closer to finding out. The video goes through the Android release names we’ve seen up until now, and ends with a little teaser portion talking about various M-named desserts. As expected, both Marshamallow, Milkshake, and Moon Pie are highlighted as just a few possibilities.A new version of Android is typically unleashed upon the world in October, so we could still be a few months away from seeing the final version.
The popular choice has been Milkshake, though there are a number of possibilities, so it’s difficult to narrow it down to just one.
Just to make your speculations easier, below are all the prospective sweets that begin with the letter “m” that Google mentions in the video:
Macadamia Brittle
Moon Pie
Madeleine
Molten Chocolate Cake
Milk Duds
Marshmallow
Marzipan
Mango Lassi
Milkshake
M&M
Macaroon
Muffin
Mousse
Meringue
Molasses
Malt Ball
Mentos
Mocha
Maple Syrup
That’s a lot of m-desserts! What’s your pick?
