Hitachi and Google Cloud Forge Multi-Year Partnership to Drive AI Innovation

On Wednesday, Hitachi and Google Cloud announced a multi-year partnership aimed at boosting enterprise innovation and productivity through generative AI. Hitachi will establish a new business unit dedicated to addressing industry challenges using Gemini models, Vertex AI, and other cloud technologies. Additionally, Hitachi will integrate Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to enhance its own products and services. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the growth of Lumada, Hitachi’s core digital business, and improve operational efficiencies across the Hitachi Group.

Key Elements of the Partnership

1. Hitachi Google Cloud Business Unit and CoE: Led by GlobalLogic, a subsidiary of the Hitachi Group, the partnership will create the Hitachi Google Cloud Business Unit and the Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE). These entities will focus on scaling Google Cloud technology for both new and existing enterprise customers.

2. GenAI Professional Training Program: Hitachi will work with Google Cloud to incorporate training on Google Cloud’s GenAI into Hitachi’s GenAI Professional training program, aiming to train more than 50,000 GenAI professionals globally.

3. GenAI Solutions for Software Modernization and Customer Service: Hitachi will leverage Gemini models to develop solutions for modernizing legacy software systems and will adopt Google Cloud Contact Center AI to enhance customer service experiences.

4. Secure GenAI Solutions for On-Premises and Cloud Environments: The new solutions will support both on-premises and cloud environments, allowing enterprises to modernize operations while maintaining their existing IT setups.

5. Joint Go-to-Market Initiatives: Hitachi and Google Cloud will align their sales, marketing, and engineering teams to provide customers with the necessary resources to effectively deploy and manage GenAI projects through the Hitachi Google Cloud Business Unit and Google Cloud CoE.
