After rumors of the phone being launched in December turned out to be just that, the Honor 6X, as announced by the company, will see launch at the end of this month. This time around, the date has been reset to January 24. While Honor’s earlier products were exclusive to Flipkart, the Honor 6 will first first appear on Amazon India. The rising popularity of the e-tailer, as opposed to rival Flipkart, seemingly the reason.
Launched in China in October 2016, the Honor 6X is available there in three variants. With 3GB RAM / 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM / 32GB inbuilt storage and 4GB RAM / 64GB inbuilt storage. They were priced at CNY 999 (approx INR 9,900), CNY 1,299 (approx INR 12,900), and CNY 1,599 (approx INR 15,800) respectively.
The Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixel) full-HD IPS display along with 2.5D curved glass protection. It is paired with a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) SoC, and a hybrid dual-SIM card slot. The device also supports microSD cards up to 128 GB, in the second SIM card slot. In the meanwhile, Honor sampled the phone to a few college students across Indian cities and has tweeted their first impressions of the phone on its Twitter handle. Dubbed as the #SwagPhone, it will be targeted at those who love their pictures at an affordable price.
