HP brings in new devices in its Omen Series

HP is expanding its gaming portfolio and has now lifted the curtain on two new laptops, one Quad HD monitor, and even a desktop. All the aforementioned products were launched under the brand Omen, which is HP’s umbrella for all of its hardcore game-centric devices. The company has now introduced two Omen laptops with 15.6 inch and 17.3 inch display sizes. The model with the smaller display is priced at $899.99, while the one with the larger display makes one poorer by $979.99. The devices offer up to sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M graphics, 16 GB of RAM, and up to 4 TB of HDD or 128 GB of SSHD storage. Both the laptops are expected to hit the market on July 10.

The Omen desktop and the 32 inch display Quad HD monitor will be, however, launched sometime in August. The company has not specified any particular date for the same. The top-end configuration on the desktop will include the Intel Core i7-6700K processor, 32 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and a 3 TB standard hard drive. There’s also an option between Nvidia’s new GeForce GTX 1080 Founder Edition card, and AMD’s Radeon R9 390X. The new HP Omen Quad HD monitor promises a 5 millisecond response time and a 75 Hz of refresh rate. HP claims that all the new Omen products are VR ready, which increases their value to a great extent, especially considering that they are gaming models. There’s no word yet on the pricing for both these products.

All these new products have the HP-owned VooDooPC branding, and the laptops come with a ‘Dragon Red’ backlit keyboards. HP had first introduced the Omen series in 2014 when it launched the 15.6-inch Omen laptop targeted especially for gamers. The laptop arrived in India in May 2015 with a price tag of INR 1,59,990.
