HTC U Ultra launched in India at INR 59,990

After launching the all new phablet in China, HTC has brought the biggie to India to take on the smartphones ruling the top-tier segment. HTC India has launched the all new HTC U Ultra phablet in India at INR 59,990.  The device will be up for sale through HTC’s official sources. The HTC U Ultra is packed with top-spec hardware and is expected to give the others of the segment a tough fight. For the Indian market, the smartphone maker does need a contender to revive itself.

The HTC U Ultra is a gorgeous device and the smartphone maker has invested in making it look that good. The U Ultra gets a contoured liquid surface and a symmetrical construction. For this device, HTC developed an entirely new process where colours bond to the glass in multiple layers to reflect light. They have molded the glass evenly around the sides and edges, using extreme pressure and heat to mimic the natural surface tension of liquid; folding and bending the surface to create a perfect blend of metal and glass.

On the front of the HTC U Ultra is a 5.7 inch, Quad HD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The pixel density of the main display is of 513ppi. The phone comes with a dual display which can be used for quick info and notifications. The phone comes in two storage options that include – 64GB and 128GB. The 64GB model is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with curve edge whereas the 128GB variant gets a premium Sapphire Glass protection. The phablet rolls out with Android 7.0 with HTC Sense on top.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU 64 bit CPU clocked at 2.15 GHz. Along with the quad-core CPU is 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The memory can be extended memory up to 2TB (Using SIM 2 slot) via micro SD card. For photography, the U Ultra comes with 12MP HTC UltraPixel 2 camera with a 1.55μm pixel at the rear. It uses a combination of Phase Detection AutoFocus and Laser focus. Other notable features of this optic unit include – Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), ƒ/1.8 aperture, Sapphire lens. Dual tone LED flash, Pro mode with manual control, 16 sec. long exposure, and RAW format support.

At the front is a 16MP camera with HTC UltraPixel mode and BSI sensor. The features of this selfie camera include – Auto Selfie (keep still or smile), Voice Selfie, Auto HDR, Selfie Panorama, andFull HD 1080p video recording.

Supporting all of the above-mentioned hardware is a battery of 3000 mAh capacity that is claimed to provide a talk time (3G/4G network) up to 26 hours, standby (3G/4G network) up to 13 days. It comes with power saving mode, extreme power saving mode, and supports Quick Charge 3.0.
