You may have to stop being the odd/unique being and either upgrade the OS, or your phone altogether to continue using WhatsApp. The Facebook owned communication service has officially stopped working on these devices, and has taken this decision for users to continue enjoying an updated and secure communication app.
Anybody using a phone running Android 2.1 or 2.2, an iPhone 3GS or iOS 6 will find that the app has stopped working. The surprise is also in store for someone using a phone that still runs on Windows Phone 7. WhatsApp has advised that owners of these older handsets who want to keep chatting with friends simply have to buy a newer phone.
Nokia and Blackberry users can breathe easy for now, as in an update on its blog, the company has clarified, “We are extending support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60 until June 30, 2017.” There are a slew of updates rumored to hit WhatsApp users in 2017, some of them might allow editing, or deleting a message even after it has been sent.
