On June 9th it is expected that Motorola will unveil its flagship smart phones that is the Moto Z and Moto Z Play, at its parent company Lenovo’s Tech World event. With these two new smart phones, Motorola is planning to introduce its new ‘Z’ series, alongwith an ecosystem of modular back plates, which was previously called as Amps. Now they have decided to call it MotoMods. For quite some time these back plates have been creating a lot of buzz, and now we may be able to get our first look at it due to tipster Evan Blass.
From the image leaked by Blas, we see three of the modular back plates which are expected to arrive with the Z series. We will be able to connect the MotoMods with the smar phones through the connection pins provided at the back. This provides additional utility to the phones. If we recall properly, Motorola was to launch five modular back plates at the event, including a battery pack, a rugged cover fitted with a wide-angle lens, a camera-style grip complete with a flash module and optical zoom, a stereo speaker setup, and even a pico projector.
N the first leaked image of MotoMod we can see the optical zoom lens. The backplate has a flash on its left and something like a shutter button on the right. The one behind it includes a kickstand, which will be of great help to the user especially to keep his phone upright while watching videos. The second MotoMod seems to be a little thicker, and could pack in the battery pack as well. The third one is difficult to dismember, but it could easily pack in a pico projector or a stereo speakers.
