Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the new phone launched by the company. It has a display of 5.5-inch with a resolution of 4K i.e. 2160x3840p. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the only phone in India that has a 4k resolution and hence priced the highest in India at INR 62990 or USD $ 950. The world has a limited 4k content so 4k screen comes to use only when Sony’s preinstalled Albums and Movies apps are used else Full HD resolution is provided by the phone.Even YouTube has limited content with 4k resolution. The videos and pictures that are captured using the phone has 4k resolution. The phone up scales contents to 4K resolution automatically when they are opened in the Albums and Movies apps.
The phone has used the same two year old OmniBalance design which looks good but a new look was desired. The phone has a new frost glass design which looks very good but it has used a plain glass back. The phone body is made up of metal and the corners have been provided with nylon protection. This device is powered with Snapdragon 810 which is an Octa-core processor. It has a 3GB RAM with and internal memory of 32GB which is expandable up to 200GB.
The phone also features front-facing speakers, 3,430mAh battery that uses QuickCharge 2.0 technology, integrated fingerprint sensor in the Power button and a water-resistant body. The phone also has a 5.1MP front camera and a 23MP rear camera with hybrid autofocus and a better stabilization of SteadyShot. The phone indeed seems very promising on the camera front.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a battery life of 1.5 day with moderate usage and 12 hours in case of heavy usage. The phone produces amazing videos and a clear sound. Users may find it difficult to use the phone with one hand because of big screen and blocky design.
