The Xiaomi Mi 4 was unveiled and thereafter launched in July 2014. After more than a year now, it has been rumored that the next flagship model by the company may be launched in the beginning of December 2015. We say, considering the success of the predecessor, it is high time that the new XIaomi Mi 5 is unveiled. The leaks also convey that the new model will come packed with the Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 SoC. If these leaks are to be believed, then the official launch of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC is expected to be in this month itself.
The internet is, as usual rife with speculations of the specifications expected in the Xiaomi Mi 5. These include an octa core processor for sure, a 5.3 inch QHD display with 1440 X 2560 pixels and pixel density of 554 ppi, 4 GB of RAM, Adreno 530 GPU and 16 Megapixel primary camera with dual LED flash. The phone is also expected to be available in two variants – one with 16 GB of inbuilt storage and the other with 64 GB of inbuilt storage. Both the variants are not expected to have expandable storage. This flagship model by Xiaomi is expected to be powered by a 3030 mAh battery.
The specifications seem great and people have a lot of expectations with the new launch. With a host of such features packed in the Mi 5, the 3030 mAh battery may just be enough for its needs. Do not expect it to last for three straight days, however, we do not anticipate users charging their phone more than once a day with normal usage.
A separate leak doing the rounds of the World Wide Web also suggest that Xiaomi will lauch Mi Band 1s, which is to be the successor of the original Mi Band. We will get back with more details as things get concrete and Xiaomi makes official communication in this regard.
