Tech Giant Apple is expected to update its MacBook Pro line this year, and according to the rumours going around the internet, the 2016 MacBook Pro series will purportedly come with an OLED touch bar panel on top. Pictures of the same have surfaced online. According to a webpage, CultOfMac, which has put out pictures showing the OLED Touch Bar, they have reportedly got these from one of the Apple’s manufacturing partners in China. The report also says that the new 2016 MacBook Pro series will come with four USB-C type connectors. According to the pictures, the OLED touchpad panel will be placed above the keyboard, and will replace the original function keys. This will let users customize their own shortcuts or even add some shortcuts for specific apps.

MacRumors had previously reported that Apple was working on a new version of the MacBook Pro, which would be thinner and would have Touch ID fingerprint scanner included in it. MacRumors’ report was then based on a note by a well known Apple analyst from KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo. According to his note, this is particularly true of the two new MacBook Pro models, to be introduced in 4Q16, as they will have a thinner and lighter form factor, Touch ID, use OLED display touch bar (to replace physical function keys, located above the keyboard) and adopt USB- C / Thunderbolt 3.

He had also mentioned that the new MacBook Pro notebooks will come with a “butterfly mechanism keyboard,” which was first introduced in the 12-inch MacBook. Additionally the new MacBook Pro series will also come with the latest Intel Skylake chipset and an updated graphics performance with AMD’s new 400-series Polaris GPU.
