We love LEGO stuff and we also absolutely drool over BMW Motorrad machines. LEGO has been one of the favourite parts of our childhood and even today their kits don’t fail to amuse us. Who doesn’t like the LEGO City or the Marvel Super Heroes? Speaking of the bike maker, BMW Motorrad has been making masterpieces that make us go down on our knees. What if these two amazing teams come together? Well, they have, and built a new super-uber-cool-kick-ass concept! They call it the Design Concept Hover Ride, you can call it the Flying BMW Motorrad R 1200 GS Adventure!
The Design Concept Hover Ride is based on, as mentioned, the BMW Motorrad R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle. As per the folks who built it, it is a perfect machine made for mankind as it can take down almost any road for you without breaking a sweat. We sorta agree seeing its form factor and tech-mech.
One fine day the folks at LEGO got in touch with BMW Motorrad for a new project that mainly aimed at adding new possibilities to the bike. While the R 1200 GS Adventure is made for the soil, the bike maker and the toy maker thought of adding wings to it. It all started by transforming the adventure bike into a LEGO model. The LEGO model was built using 603 exclusively designed pieces and is an alternative model that is commonly provided with LEGO Technic 2-in-1 kits.
Using similar pieces that were used for the R 1200 GS Adventure LEGO model, the Hover Ride concept version was designed and presented to BMW Motorrad. Further, the BMW Junior Company, a BMW Group training unit, turned the Hover Ride included in the set into an elaborately produced full-size replica. The life-size model was presented during the LEGO World event in Copenhagen and will travel afterward to different locations in Denmark and the BMW Welt in Munich.
The LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure will be up for grabs in the form of a 2-in-1 building set but there’s more to it. Since the LEGO Group is celebrating 40 years of LEGO Technic this year, a specially embellished LEGO Technic element is hidden in the set.
The LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure features authentic BMW Telelever front-wheel suspension, the universal shaft drive, and the moving BMW Motorrad 2-cylinder boxer engine, all of which are set in motion as soon as the motorcycle is moved.
