Lenovo is launching its Phab 2 Plus smartphone in India on the 8th of November 2016. Official invites for the phone’s launch are out and the phablet will be sold exclusively through the Amazon India website. Revealed first in June 2016, the Phab 2 Plus in an interesting proposition for the fans of a big screen size.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus gets a jumbo sized 6.4-inch, full HD (1080x1920px) screen with 2.5D curved glass. The battery, specced at 4050mAh has the size to match that of the screen. The phone also gets a fancy dual camera setup sitting atop a fingerprint scanner. The sensor on the camera is a 13-megapixel unit with dual-LED Flash, PDAF and laser auto focus. The f/2.0 aperture with 1.34-micron pixels bodes well for low light photography as well. Front shooter is an 8-megapixel unit with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels.
Computing power is provided by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8783 octa-core processor with Mali T720 GPU along with 3GB of generous RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 32GB, expandable to 128GB through an external Micro SD card.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Vibe UI skin sitting atop. The phone gets hybrid dual-SIM capability and weighs 218 gm. As for connectivity, the phone gets 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.0.
Colour options for the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus will be Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey. Internationally the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus retails for $299 or INR 20,000. It’s has been some time since the phone was introduced internationally, though, and we expect the India price to be a tad lower.
