Chinese smart phone maker Lenovo has now rolled out Android Marshmallow update to its Vibe S1 smart phone in India. Anuj Sharma, who is Lenovo India’s head of product and marketing, shared the news on microblogging website Twitter. A notification will soon pop up on users’ smart phones once the new software is ready to download and install. The download is reportedly around 1.6GB in size, so it’s advisable that one updates the software on Wi-Fi connection. Lenovo’s first smart phone with two front-facing cameras, the Vibe S1 also received an unexpected price cut recently. The smart phone which was launched for INR 15,999 is now available for INR 12,999 on Amazon. This is the second price cut for the device.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Vibe S1 sports a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor which has been paired with 3 GB RAM. There is a 32 GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The smart phone comes with a 13 MP rear camera, and an 8 MP main front-facing shooter along with a 2 MP secondary front camera. Recently, Lenovo also rolled out Android Marshmallow update for its A7000, K3 Note, and Vibe P1 smart phones in the country.
Android Marshmallow brings a host of new features for the users. However, some users who have received the update in other phones are reporting heating issues with the screen, even with usual usage, which cannot be classified as heavy use in anyway.
