[UPDATE] Lenovo Zuk Edge smartphone to be launched on 7 December 2016

Lenovo’s hit smartphone series, the ZUK series is all set to welcome another member to its family in a couple of days. Following the success story created by the Zuk Z1, Zuk Z2 and Pro, Lenovo will officially unveil the all-new Zuk Edge on 7 December 2016 to rewrite a similar chapter. The phone was spied and spotted on various occasions on equipment authorization/certification and benchmark website. Hence, we had a lot of information about the upcoming Lenovo Zuk Edge way ahead of its launch. So before the official event happens tomorrow (7 Dec 2016) let’s have a (final) look as to what the package will be like and what all to expect out of it.

UPDATE: A fresh new teaser suggests that the phone will also be available in black!

Starting off with the name, the Edge treatment on the Lenovo Zuk will not similar to what we see on the Samsungs. Instead of adopting a new type of a display, Lenovo has trimmed the bezel of the phone. We can’t call it a bezel-less phone but shaving off the screen’s border has really made the Zuk Edge a handsome deal. It also makes the 5.5-inch Full HD 1080P LCD display look gorgeous as it covers the most of the surface area.

Powering the Zuk Edge will be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 processor (Quad-core (2×2.35 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. There were reports stating that the Zuk Edge will be offered with 6GB of RAM but newer updates suggest that the RAM on support will be of 4GB.

Lenovo may likely offer internal storage options of 32GB and 64GB instead of the 64GB and 128GB rumored before. The camera setup is expected to be better than the one on the Z2 Pro. Speculated as of now, the primary shooter on the Edge will be a 13MP unit and the front may likely get

Speculated as of now, the primary shooter on the Edge will be a 13MP unit and the front may likely get an 8MP camera. All the above hardware will be supported by a 3000mAh. Expecting Android v.7.0 Nougat is too soon so mostly the Edge will be rolling out with Marshmallow. The Lenovo Zuk line-up made its business because it offered the best of the hardware at an affordable price. So we feel the Zuk Edge will be up with the same plan and will be out on sale for a price close to INR 22,000 (approx USD 320).
