Lenovo Zuk Edge Spied, Gets Snapdragon 821 and 4GB RAM

Lenovo has become a force to reckon with in the smartphone arena, and the Zuk label is doing pretty well for the brand too. The Chinese smartphone maker has introduced three models in its Zuk  lineup thus far, comprising the Zuk Z1, Zuk Z2 Pro and the Zuk Z2. The first model was launched last year while the latter two have been introduced in early-mid 2016. Now, a fourth model, namely Zuk Edge is all set to join the Zuk series.

As the name suggests, the ‘Edge’ will ‘border’ on to going bezel less, though it would stop just short of doing that. In effect, the edge will have a very slim bezel, though it wouldn’t be completely without bezel. The Zuk Edge has been spotted online in leaked images, and unlike what earlier rumors suggested, doesn’t have a curved display.  The phone was spotted originally on China’s certification website TENAA.

The new phone, if the leak information is something to go by, will get a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080P LCD display along with the latest 2.35 GHz Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB of RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 32 and 64GB.

The phone gets a 13MP rear shooter with 4K recording capability along with an 8MP front camera. Battery size is a decent 3000mAh. The phone will run Android Marshmallow out of the box and will be available in black and white shades.

The Zuk series’ claim to fame is for providing the much sought after Snapdragon 820 processor for cheap. The Zuk Z2 (Z2 Plus in India) is one of the most economical phones to sport the 820 SoC with a price tag of INR 17,999 with 32 GB of storage.

Zuk Edge will hit the Chinese market by the end of this year and will start reaching out to the rest of the global markets by Early 2017.
