Micromax Mega 2 with 6 inch display launched

Micromax, soon after launching Canvas Spark 2 Plus, has now introduced the new Canvas Mega 2 smart phone. It is priced at INR 7,999. This new Micromax Canvas Mega 2 smart phone is now available in India. The highlight of the smart phone is that it has 6-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display, which is one of the largest screen sizes available at that price in the market. The handset also has a 3000 mAh battery. This smart phone was showcased at the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro launch last month, and had then promised that it would be launched soon.

Micromax Canvas Mega 2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor that is accompanied with 1 GB of RAM. It has 8 GB of storage which can further be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). It also features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera has LED flash. In India it supports 4G LTE connectivity and the other options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPRS / EDGE, GPS, and 3G. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

The company claims that the new Canvas Mega 2 is aimed at strengthening the phablet portfolio in the country. Over 15 percent market share in the phablet segment in the country is claimed by Micromax. Mr. Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics claims that with the launch of Canvas Mega 2, we will surely drive the value for money phablet category in the country by addressing major consumer pain points of better viewing experience and more productivity on-the-go at disruptive price points. Also with the cricketing season on its roll, the new smartphone will be a true haven for the sports aficionados in the country as they will be able to consume best quality cricket viewing experience on the move.
