Microsoft has launched the Lumia 535 mid-tier smartphone in India priced at Rs 9,199. The handset will be available at online and retail stores from November 28 onwards.
In terms of specs, the Lumia, developed by now-dissolved Nokia, comes with a 5-inch QHD (960×540 pixels) display with 220ppi pixel density, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card, 15GB free OneDrive storage, and a 1,905mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 11 hours of talktime and up to 23 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim update. One of the novel features of the Lumia 535 is the 5-megapixel wide-angle camera at the front, designed for great selfies. There is also a 5-megapixel camera at the back, with a flash.
To sweeten the deal, Microsoft is also offering a host of goodies with the Lumia 535, including a 500MB free data voucher for Vodafone users for a period of two months, Jabong gift vouchers worth Rs 6,000 applicable for three months, eBooks for Flipkart worth Rs 1,500, and two months of BoxTv subscription worth Rs 720.
