At just $70 before taxes, Microsoft labels it the “most affordable Lumia to-date,” and its basic specifications clearly help achieve that impressive price point. For the money you’ll get a 4-inch WVGA display, 8GB of storage (with a microSD slot), and 1GB of RAM. This is all powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, and a relatively small 1500 mAh battery.
Unfortunately, the biggest compromise is with the cameras: it has a meager 2-megapixel front/0.3-megapixel shooters that will make for passable selfies and not much else. In a press release, Jo Harlow, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Phones had this to say about the intentions of this device launch: “People around the world have responded enthusiastically to our affordable Lumia range. We continue to invest in this segment to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy signature Microsoft experiences, regardless of budget.The Lumia 430 Dual SIM continues our commitment to combining the right hardware, software, services and apps with the right price to give people a smartphone they can afford and be proud to use.”
The ultra-budget dual SIM Lumia is destined for select emerging markets this April including India, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
