Mid-Air Galaxy Note 7 WiFi Hotspot prank doesn’t fly too well at 35,000 ft

Flying might be the safest way to travel according to statistics. But even the slightest amount of turbulence is sometimes enough to make full grown adults nervous. Then there are those who enjoy that feeling and when everything’s cruising about in stable air, they just get bored and start craving for adventure.

A similar passenger flying on a Virgin Airlines flight from Boston to San Francisco made the entire crew and fellow passengers nervous, as he created a WiFi Hotspot with the name “Galaxy Note 7_1097” during the flight. Banned across almost all commercial airliners around the globe due to its explosive nature, the prank took a serious turn when the crew discovered the Hotspot and asked the passenger to push the call button.

When nobody responded, the crew got serious and threatened to switch the cabin lights on and search all cabin bags until the device was found. But it wasn’t until the pilot got involved and warned that if nobody claimed responsibility, he’d have to make an emergency landing. It was then that the prankster came forward and confessed that there was no such phone on the flight and he had simply renamed his Hotspot. That hotspot must’ve made a lot of spots on human bodies to go cold for sure though.
