Minecraft creator buys most expensive home in Beverly Hills

Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of the cult video game Minecraft, recently dropped a whooping $70 million to become the owner of the most expensive piece of real estate in a locality that already is home to some of the world’s most outrageous residences and stores, Beverly Hills, California. The 35-year-old Swede, became a billionaire when he sold his company, Mojang, to Microsoft in September last year for more than $2 billion.

Located in the Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills, the 23,000-square-foot home overlooks Los Angeles and also offers a view of the Pacific Ocean. The house also includes a 54-foot curved glass door that separates the living room from the “infinity pool” outdoors, whose fountains can be controlled with iPads.

According to the official press release from John Aaroe Group, the developers, other amenities of this mansion include a candy room, an 18-seat tiered screening room, a state-of-the-art kitchen and an exquisite 18-foot onyx dining room table for 24 with place settings by Roberto Cavalli at a cost of $3,700 each. Three high-definition 90-inch television screens bring panoramic views of Los Angeles from the roof into the down stairs lounge, especially breathtaking at night.

Once inside, you will discover art pieces which include a replica of James Dean’s motorcycle and a chromed Ma Deuce machine gun. On a conventional note, the home has eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms all equipped with Toto Neorest toilets at a price of $5,600 each: “Markus fell in love with the house, its sleek contemporary design and its spectacular panoramic views that sweep from downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean,” noted De Los Reyes from the company’s Sherman Oaks office. “The fact that the house also was completely furnished in such great style was another major selling point for him.”

According to the US press, the video game genius beat out high profile names like Jay-Z and Beyonce, among other interested parties, for the house. Once you see the video below, you will see why:
