Moto G4: More Leaks hint at 2 versions and NFC

Motorola is now all set to launch its fourth generation of the immensely successful Moto G on May 17 in India. The company has started tweeting and teasing about the product hinting at various feature upgrades one can now expect with the new device. Now a new Twitter leak hints at the new Moto G4 coming in two variants much like its predecessor. While the company had announced Moto G3 and the Moto G Turbo at two different intervals of time, this time around, both the devices could launch together.

A new component list that was revealed by a Twitter user, Roland Quandt also stakes a claim that there is NFC support coming with the Moto G4. NFC is now increasingly becoming common with new age smart phones and so the new Moto G4 with NFC support shouldn’t be a big surprise. Earlier, rumours also suggested that Moto G4 would be the first Moto device to feature a fingerprint scanner. Moto India’s twitter account suggests that the new phone will have better battery life as compared to its predecessors. According to the leaks, there are also better cameras in the offering. The new leak suggests Moto G4 will come with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera while Moto G4 Plus is likely to be launched with a 16 MP rear camera.

While previous Moto G devices have offered excellent performance, the camera has been its weakest point. Motorola did try and even improve camera performance on its Moto X Play, Moto X Style and Moto X Force smart phones, all of which came up after the launch of the Moto G3. Motorola is not giving away much details but Moto G4 is expected to be a huge improvement over its predecessors. Motorola Moto G4 could also be the first smart phone to feature ‘Moto by Lenovo’ branding but we are yet to get any official confirmation about the same.
