Moto G5 to go on sale in March 2017

While the actual device is yet to be unveiled at the MWC 2017 this month, tipster Roland Quandt has posted that the Moto G5 will reach retail channels just about immediately after the launch event. And although there is no information about region wise pricing and availability yet, the device has already cleared FCC earlier this week.

The upcoming Moto G5 will boast of a 5.5-inch full HD display and is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. It will be sold with variable RAM/ROM sizes of 2GB RAM + 16/32 GB (expandable till 128 GB via a microSD card). Optics on the Moto G5 will include a 13MP rear + 5MP front shooter, all that backed by a 2800 mAh battery.
A Plus variant with a fingerprint sensor and 4GB RAM + 16/32 GB Storage is also on the cards. However, there is no word on the availability of this variant of the G5 at the moment. Like the G5, the Plus variant is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat Out-of-the-box, but will feature better optics in the form of a 16 MP rear + 8MP front shooter. Powering the hardware could be a 3080 mAh battery with support for Turbo charging. All G5 variants will include a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microUSB port. Powered by the new Snapdragon 625 processor, the Moto G5 Plus should boast of better battery life and the phone will in all probability retain its USP of providing a near stock Android experience.
